Ugly Kid Joe
Ugly Kid Joe
Ugly Kid Joe a heavy metal band from Isla Vista, California, USA - formed in 1989. They had a range of styles such as hard rock, southern, funk, rap & thrash. They originated as a pun and response to Pretty Boy Floyd.  The band had their most success in the early to mid 1990's with hits such as 'Everything About you', 'Cat's in the Cradle' and 'Neighbor'.  America's Least Wanted was their debut album and it was released in June 1992.

Their logo was a cartoon embodiment of an “ugly kid” wearing a backward baseball hat and giving the finger. Ugly Kids Joes influences came from the likes of Black Sabbath & AC/DC, they covered a number  of their songs.

Ugly Kid Joe formed their own independent label Evilution Records for the release of their next album, after they were dropped by their record label.  And they released Motel California at the end of 1996.  The album was initially poorly recieved, but it has gained minor cult following in recent times.  Ugly Kid Joe disbanded 1997.
